RBI Strategies and Research Wins “Pollie” Awards

RBI Strategies and Research Wins Top Honor at Annual Awards Ceremony of the American Association of Political Consultants(AAPC)

SOUTH BEACH, FL- Last night RBI Strategies and Research, a Denver-based political consulting firm, won top honors at the 2007 “Pollie Awards” ceremony. This was the first time in RBI’s 22-year history they have chosen to submit their work to the “Pollies.”

RBI took honors (along with Flying Brick Radio) for “Best Radio Ad in an Independent Expenditure Campaign for Congress” for the ad “Pombo Mambo” that ran in California’s eleventh congressional district. Pombo, a long-time opponent of rational public lands policies, was narrowly defeated by Democrat Jerry McNerny in one of the most-watched congressional races in the country. The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund hired RBI Strategies to devise creative media that could break through the clutter in a race that was on the top of the target list for nearly every group in the country and was besieged by independent expenditure advertising.

RBI Strategies and Research also received top honors (along with Compass Media ) in the “Best Billboard Overall” category for “Swimming Pool”, a billboard advertisement that ran on Colorado’s Western Slope during the Club 20 gubernatorial debate. The billboard, sponsored by the Colorado Conservation Voters Campaign Fund, took a humorous swipe at “Both Ways Bob” Beauprez for his inconsistent water policies. The intent of the campaign was to draw attention to Beauprez’s support for Referendum A and his water policies that favored the Front Range over the Western Slope.
